ROBERT FISH

CHILDREN of Robert and Mabill Fish:

 

WILLIAM FISH Baptised at Wighton on the 8th September 1578.

1639 October. Married Susan Clarke at Stiffkey.

Children: Robert Fish 1607, Susan Fish 1609, John Fish 1610, Katherine Fish 1613, Ann Fish 1613, William Fish 1617, Mathias Fish 1619, Francis Fish 1620, Ellen Fish 1624.

 

EDMUND FISH Baptised at Wighton on the 25th April 1582.

1616 Married Elizabeth Lea.

Children: Francis Fish 1617, Clemens Fish 1619, Edmund Fish 1620, John Fish 1623.

 

MARGARET FISH Baptised at Wighton on the 4th October 1584.

 

JOHN FISH Baptised at Wighton on the 17th June 1587.

1620 28th May. Married Katherine Warnes.

Child: Edmund Fish 1621.

 

MARY FISH Baptised at Wighton in October 1589.

THERE IS FURTHER RESEARCH TO DO - There were several earlier Fish generations at Wighton but it appears many were baptised before any parish registers were kept. There is no baptism there for Robert Fish.

At Wighton: 

George Fish married Dorothy Walker in 1559. Dorothy, wife of George, was buried in 1577.

Dorothy Fish married Thomas Elflett in 1566. They had Ciscelle 1571, Frances 1575 and Elizabeth 1577.

Thomas Fish was also having children baptised: Mary 1570, Robert 1572, Anabele 1575 and Elizabeth 1577. (daughter Anabele Fish married a John Fish.) Thomas, a pauper, was buried in 1617.

Mary Fish married Robert Francklynge in 1573 and they had Mary, Johane, Susan and Thomas.

 

Edmund Fish married Dorothy and they had Robert 1599, Frances 1601, Mary 1607, Anne 1610, Edmund 1614 and John 1616. (Recorded in the registers as Edmund, senior)

 

Robert Fish had the following children baptised:

Rose 1559. (She married Robert Curtis in 1583 and had Roger and Susan, and as a widow had Mabilla in 1600).

Margaret 1559.

John 1561.

Clemens 1563. (She married Edmund Brytys in 1593 and they had Simon Fish.)

William 1565 - 1565.

 

Robert Fish was buried in 1565 and a Margaret Fish, a widow, in 1572. No marriage found.

 

William, son of Robert and Mabill, may have been married to Brigitte Kinge in 1604, before his wife Susan but Brigitte's burial has not turned up.
