THERE IS FURTHER RESEARCH TO DO - No probable baptism for Nathaniel Littlewood senior has so far been found in Essex. Nathaniel is a forename not too often used so several references to that name coupled with Littlewood in Suffolk and Norfolk ought to have some connection. Found so far:
A NCC will proved in 1788, Nathaniel Littlewood, tailor, of Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
A burial of a Nathaniel Littlewood at Stowupland, Suffolk in 1718.
Nathaniel Littlewood baptised in 1710, son of Nathaniel and Margaret, at Stowupland.
Elizabeth, wife of Nathaniel Littlewood, buried 1706 at Stowupland.
A marriage of a Nathaniel Littlewood that took place in Stowmarket, Suffolk, in 1678.
Nathaniel Littlewood baptised in 1656, son of Benjamin and Ann, at Yarmouth, Norfolk.
Nathaniel Littlewood baptised in 1625, son of Thomas and Rose, at Ludham, Norfolk, with a possible sibling, Mary, baptised in 1628 at Filby. Earlier and later Littlewoods at Ludham, several buried inside the church, but no more Nathaniels. No more found on Benjamin as yet.
In Essex there was a burial of a John Littlewood in 1735 at St. Mary at the Walls. That was the same church Nathaniel and Mary, above, married at in 1736. Perhaps a connection.

LITTLEWOOD - According to a surname project based at the University College in London the surname of Littlewood was derived from an English location. It is a name more associated with the north of England but there are some Littlewoods in East Anglia including sixteenth century references in the east of Norfolk.
